Generate and spend harmony

Monk accumulates up to 5 harmony charges with generating actions and spends them on finishers. A useful arrangement is to place the finisher before generators, with a full-harmony condition, so it is attempted as soon as it becomes available.

One active virtue

Justice, Sustain and Harmony support different play styles. Virtues unlock at level 20; configure one in your bar and monitor the Monk panel. Switching virtue changes the combat plan, not the character’s vocation.

Understand serenity

Serenity strengthens the virtue. Its state varies with nearby allies and adjacent enemies; check the indicator during a hunt. Do not assume a state observed while solo will remain in a party surrounded by monsters.

Fist fighting also needs progression

Look for fist weapons and equipment highlighted in the hunt catalog. Compare trained skill and bonuses from gear and food, as well as damage and defense. Harmony does not replace recovery: a bar focused only on generating resources can delay healing.
